As a fun, new service to our members, we are publishing monthly restaurant reviews written by our very own members. Enjoy this month’s review!
This month I looked for a restaurant that was serving food that is fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. I found just the right place. Panera Bread Co. bakes fresh bread everyday and it is very good. I particularly like the Sourdough loaf thin sliced. It is good for homemade sandwiches or toast. However, if you don’t want to cook at home they have a good lunch and dinner menu (the menus are the same).
I prefer the soup and sandwich options. My favorite soups are chicken tortilla, baked potato or natural steak chili. Add in a sandwich like Napa Almond Chicken Salad on sesame semolina bread or Ham and Swiss on sourdough and it is a very tasty and filling lunch or dinner. In the warmer weather I prefer one of their salads. Orchard Harvest Chicken Salad with dried cherries, fresh D’Anjou pears, gorgonzola and toasted pecans is very good. So is the Fuji Apple Chicken Salad with vine ripened tomatoes, red onions, pecans, gorgonzola and apple chips. Add coffee, tea or a soft drink and you have a fresh, tasty and healthy lunch or dinner for less than $10 and no tip. It’s worth a try.
And just an added note for those who enjoy food and investing, if you bought Panera stock on January 1, 2010, it cost about $65 per share. On January 1, 2011, it was worth $103 per share. They must be selling a lot of good food. From the Sunshine State….
