Iowa Supreme Court to hear oral arguments at Marion High School Oct. 24

The Iowa Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in Marion at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at the Marion High School auditorium (675 South 15th Street). Oral arguments are open to the public. The Linn County Bar Association is sponsoring a public reception with the justices following oral arguments. The reception will take place in the high school library.


The case being argued is Simranjit Singh v. Michael Walter McDermott, an appeal from Cass County involving the determination of whether the presence of a cow on Interstate 80 renders the owner of the cow negligent and liable for personal injury and property damages resulting from the plaintiff’s semi-truck colliding with the cow.
