Next bar meeting Thursday, October 16 featuring legislative update and legislative process overview

LCBA members, please join us for the October bar meeting on Thursday, October 16 from 12 to 1 PM at Waypoint, 318 5th Street, Cedar Rapids.   This month's meeting will feature the long-time head of the Iowa State Bar Association’s legislative lobbying team, attorney James Carney (at left) of Carney & Appleby, P.L.C. Jim will provide an overview of the legislative process, highlight important legislation passed in 2025, and discuss key issues he expects to see come up in the 2026 legislative session.
