Summer Outing - July 24, 2025

The annual LCBA Summer Outing will take place Thursday, June 24.  Admission to is free to all dues-paid LCBA members. Registrations were due July 14.

Events are as follows:

Morning CLE via Zoom: 8:30 am – 11:30 am, including presentations from:

8:30-9:00: Craig Nierman, Founder of Nierman ADR – Negotiations

9:00-10:00: Tara Van Brederode, Director of Attorney Discipline and Administration from the Iowa Attorney Discipline Board – Ethics

10:00-11:00: Malycki Manon-Sosa, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Director ISBA - Diversity

11:00-11:30: Lars Anderson, Chief Judge, Sixth Judicial District - State of the Judiciary

Afternoon Activities:

Bike Ride: This ride is for new and seasoned riders alike. We want to increase participation and will have door prizes for participants, so please join us! We will stay on the trails as much as possible. This year's route will again be in Cedar Rapids and will, of course, include stops at local fine establishments for and beverages.  Pontoon Boat: Meet at Lake Macbride Boat Rental Dock, 3525 Hwy 382 NE, Solon, at 1:00 p.m. We will have snacks and refreshments to enjoy on a pontoon cruise around the lake from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Bring sunscreen! Door prizes will be awarded at dinner. Contact Sarah Barr at scb@shuttleworthlaw.com with any questions. Sarah will email further details a few days prior.

Golf: Meet at Ellis Golf Course, for 18 holes in a four-person best format shot. Based on prior years’ numbers we will not be closing for the course for a full scramble and, instead, will have set tee times, with the first starting at 11:00 a.m. Winning team and hole prize events awarded at dinner. Contact Casey Rigdon at crigdon@bradleyriley.com with any questions. Casey will email details of the tee times a few days prior to the event and check-in will be a half hour before your tee time. 

Dinner:

4:30-5:30: Social Hour at the Ellis Event Center

5:30-7:30: Dinner at the Ellis Event Center.

6:00: Door prizes and activity winners announced
